Embracing Human Experiences to Live a Life of Abundance

Cora Z. Cardenas

About The Book

The book takes you through a series of life events, Cora calls human experiences. She was inspired by Wayne Dyer’s words: We are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having a human experience.

It is a teaching memoir of Cora honouring the valuable lessons learned from her parents especially her beloved mother. She bravely tells her story of growing up and growing old. She shares her human experiences, she likens to pieces of life puzzles, that when put together creates a big picture of a wealthy life of abundance.

Be intrigued by her puzzle’s twist and turns, trusting that there is a divine unfolding, keeping faithful and gaining strength through the power of prayers.

In this book, be inspired to live wealthy in all areas of your life. Retire happy, joyful, fulfilled and peaceful. Wealth is not only about money. Retirement is not necessarily about old age.

Wealth, retirement and happiness all goes together in any time and space within your spiritual life line that allows you to find freedom to make choices without unnecessary restrictions -freedom of movement, freedom of time, financial freedom, freedom from unnecessary stress, freedom from your unwanted past or your uncertain future, freedom from regrets, freedom to find and express yourself, freedom from anything that disallows you from maximising the desires of your heart.

This book gives you personal insights of Cora’s holistic approach to wealth beyond financial aspects. She tells practical examples of living healthy, creating wealth, building meaningful relationships, enjoying every experience, accepting what is, tuning in to your spiritual guides to embrace unexpected circumstances. Be grateful and abundance will flow.

In the end, allow yourself to define what a wealthy life is and what a happy retirement is all about. Learn as you attend her pretend 100 years old birthday celebration or her eulogy, as she creates and shares her own template as her ultimate goal setting.

When that “one day, any day, last day” arrives, you would have fulfilled that glorious unfolding of your own life puzzle, a big picture finally completed, a legacy to leave the world, your own narrative of how you have made a difference in the world and how you want to be remembered.

About The Author

Cora Cardenas defines herself as an ordinary human being.  She was born and raised in the Philippines by struggling parents who believed that education was their only way out of poverty. Despite their financial hardships, her parents were able to send her and her siblings to private girls school as they believed that this will be the foundation of strong character, good values, refined breeding and eventually a decent fulfilling life.

She gained a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from The Philippine Women’s University through college scholarship. Cora is a CPA, has a masters degree in business management and human behaviour from Macquarie Graduate School of Management. She has 25 years of corporate finance experience in the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry.

She is happily married to her husband of 40 years. She met her husband during an inter university student leadership camp where both of them were presidents of the university student council they represented. Eric and Cora migrated to Australia with their two young children in 1991. Once in Australia they began a new life of adventure. Similar to many migrants’ stories, they have experienced a mix of excitement, challenge, struggle and some great outcomes.  She now travels the world with Eric and embraces every single human experience she meets with positivity, meaning, grace and purpose.

She heeded a call to do community service after being made redundant on 08/08/2008, a very lucky number for her.  Her volunteer work with the SISTER to sister program prompted her to help vulnerable members of the community by inspiring young girls to dream big and live fulfilling lives.

Cora is now 15 years into financial counselling helping clients who are undergoing financial stress and hardship.  She believes that money touches every aspect of the human life. With her personal experiences with money, managing debt, creating wealth and building a happy retirement, she changes lives everyday.

In her retirement years, she is dedicating 2 days  a week at the community centre to do the work that she loves and according to her own words:  The work that heaven assigned for me.

It is her ultimate desire to see less people experiencing poverty. Through education and financial literacy, it is her dream to witness ordinary individuals like her enjoying true financial independence.
